I Want to Ride my Bicycle

.... I just don't have one yet....

I was recently struck by a moment of inspiration.

At the moment, when I want to send out an order, I have to ask  a kind soul to give me a lift to the Post Office, usually it is my lovely mum who says yes but she works full time and it's not always easy for her to help me.

So, obviously, I need a bicycle! It makes perfect sense and I kind of can't believe I haven't thought about it before. This realisation has led me to having an internet trawl and goodness me there are some beautiful bikes out there.

Look at these from Beg Bicycles

Too gorgeous! Unfortunately they are somewhat out of my price range. This weekend I'll be taking a trip to a second-hand bicycle shop in Oxford in the hope of finding my dream machine :D

Wish me luck :)

Until then I shall continue fantasising about sunny days spent riding to the Post Office on a cute bicycle with my basket full of littlebobbins orders ready to make their way out into the world.

So how about you - do you have any bicycling tips? Do you ride? What do you put in your basket?

  1. Cycling is great fun and keeps you fit. Just don't know about the traffic where you are, but around here it's terrifying as we have no cycle paths.
    Good luck with the hunt!

    1. Thanks Bimbi :)
We haven't got any cycle paths either but luckily it's not too busy around here! I am a little nervous about cycling on the road, although, it's been so many years since I got on a bike I'm mostly just hoping I can stay upright.

  2. Dani I have not ridden a bike since I was very young but I do sometimes fantastize about having a lovely peppermint green bike with a cane basket, so I can ride down to the park and have a picnic.

  3. It sounds wonderful! I did buy a bike (and a basket for the front) before I had kids although the traffic around our home was terrifying, so I'll admit I didn't use it that much. I share your romantic notions, though. :)

    1. The fact that it has been bucketing down with rain for the last few days is challenging said romantic notions :)
