The Making of a Purse

I have wanted to have a little purse in my shop for a while. I didn't want it to have a zip, I wanted it to be simple but a bit interesting, so when I was having a clear out I came across this cute little cat purse that I have had for ages and decided that this would be a good shape to try out.

It's boxy and cute.
So I set about measuring it,

making a paper template,

making a little patchwork panel to use,

tracing the pattern on to my little pinned purse sandwich,

sewing it on my beloved machine,

turning it right side out and poking out the corners (I like to use a biro) and

hand sewing the sides.

What did I make...........

a handy little box..... not quite what I had in mind!

So it was back to the drawing board, I altered the pattern and made another purse and this time it worked!
YAY!

I'm pleased with it. I made another 2 colours and used a some metallic thread

I'm eager to make some more now but have run out of snap fasteners, if anyone knows of a good stockist I'd love the tip off :)

I'll be putting these in my shop over the next couple of days and I'd love to hear what you think of them.
