Thank you so much for joining me for my quite delayed podcast - I explain the delay a bit in this episode. I am so happy to have my mum in this podcast and we share what we are working on, what we have finished and some projects we are planning. I also draw for some giveaways and show you some purchases from some recent wooly shows.

I also show my newest sock pattern designs in this episode and talk about my now completed collection - designing feels like such an exciting adventure and I am so grateful that you have all been so supportive and encouraging of it - thank you so much!

Twas the Night Before Christmas Socks

I am so excited to introduce the Twas the Night Before Christmas Socks my very first sock design.

Photograph by Deb Hickman

These socks were inspired by my favourite yearly tradition - the Christmas Eve cast on.

If you're not familiar with the Christmas Eve cast on let me tell you about it.

In 2014 I started a video podcast, Little Bobbins Knits, sharing my knitting projects. I mentioned that I had a tradition of casting on a pair of socks each Christmas Eve. These socks would always carry the special memories of the festive season. I was thrilled when people who watched the podcast liked this idea and decided to adopt the tradition for themselves. It was so wonderful to see people joining in and sharing snippets of their celebrations and their newly cast on Christmas Eve socks.

The Twas the Night Before Christmas socks were inspired by the warm feeling I get when I think about all of the other knitters across the world casting on their special Christmas Eve socks. I do hope you will like them and I hope you will join in with us to knit your own pair of Christmas Eve socks.

We will be chatting about our socks in the Little Bobbins Knits Ravelry Group and sharing our photos on instagram using the hashtag #lbkchristmasevesocks2017 .

I will be knitting the Twas the Night Before Christmas socks this year, if you would like to too then the pattern is available in my Ravelry Store.

little bobbins knits - episode sixty two

Thank you so much to everyone who has been in touch recently, to the new members of the Ravelry group, to the lovely people who have subscribed on YouTube and the hugest thank you to those of you who are returning to the podcast, it really means such a lot.

It's been a while hasn't it! I think a few different things have been conspiring to stop me podcasting for a while - being a bit busy, being slightly overwhelmed at how much I wanted to share with you and my computer has been on its last legs for a while. Thank you so much for the kind messages telling me you were missing the podcast, it meant such a lot.

I'm just sharing a few things this time - to ease myself back in, but I do hope you enjoy the episode.
